Nashville – A new biography chronicling the remarkable life of entertainment and venue management industry pioneer Barbara “Mother” Hubbard is set to launch, co-authored by industry veterans Linda Deckard and Jessica Boudevin Terborch. “ACTS of the Heart: The Remarkable Story of Live Entertainment’s Mother Hubbard” offers an in-depth look at Hubbard’s early life, her role teaching entertainment and how to be a human at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, and her lasting impact on the live events industry, including her American Collegiate Talent Showcase (ACTS) program and scholarships.
From humble beginnings to becoming one of the most respected figures in entertainment and venue management, Hubbard’s story is one of faith, grit and determination. Through exclusive interviews, personal anecdotes, and never-before-shared details, Deckard and Terborch paint a vivid portrait of a trailblazer who shaped the future of live entertainment and mentored generations of industry professionals.
To celebrate the book’s launch, three signing events will be held:

● Nashville, TN – 8 October 2024, in the lobby outside IEBA Agent’s Alley, for IEBA Registered Attendees, 1pm – 4pm, with Mother Hubbard, Linda Deckard, and Jessica Boudevin TerBorch
● In the Barbara Hubbard Room at Pan Am Center in Las Cruces, NM – TBD
